Selma — The City Council voted unanimously Aug. 19 to adopt the City of Selma Parks Master Plan, a 20‑year roadmap created by QK following community outreach and an inventory of city parks.
QK Senior Planner Christine Chavez summarized the plan’s findings and recommendations, saying the city currently has 46.9 acres of parkland and that the plan evaluates needs through 2045, when population projections show growth from about 24,000 to roughly 33,000 residents. Chavez said the plan aims to align park provision with the City’s general‑plan target of 5 acres per 1,000 residents and to create a framework for grant competitiveness and future capital budgeting.
