Commissioners asked whether the bond-fund amount included retainage; Angela and other staff discussed retainage practices and said retainage is typically around 5 percent. Staff later advised the board that after the listed payments, the bond fund balance would be approximately $700,000.
Commissioner Mark Myers moved to approve the register; Commissioner John Dittmer seconded, and the motion carried by voice vote. Board discussion included a request for staff to confirm the exact retained amount in the bond fund and to ensure sufficient funds remain to cover outstanding obligations.
The treasurer noted these were checks written (expenditures) for the period specified. Commissioners asked for clarity about remaining balances and retainage to ensure future payments would not exhaust bond fund reserves; staff said detailed closeout numbers would be available as the construction contract moves toward finalization.
