Hanson elected chair; Mays chosen vice chair at Cumberland Housing Authority meeting

At the start of its Aug. 4 meeting the Cumberland Housing Authority elected Bill Hanson as chair and Norm Mays as vice chair by voice vote. The nominations were made and adopted by unanimous voice vote; board members then moved to the meeting’s substantive agenda.
A board member nominated Bill Hanson for chair and the board voted "all in favor"; the motion passed unanimously and Hanson assumed the chair role. Norm Mays was nominated and accepted for vice chair; that nomination also carried on a voice vote.
Those organizational votes concluded the authority’s procedural business and set the board’s leadership for the remainder of the meeting.
The board then proceeded to new business on rental‑rate policy and a means‑test discussion. The board later tabled the rent/means items for a follow‑up meeting scheduled for Sept. 15 at 4 p.m.
