The Fort Atkinson School District Board of Education on Aug. 21 approved two 10-year sponsorship agreements that grant naming rights for major high-school facilities and provide upfront capital for improvements. Jones Dairy Farm will pay $110,000 for stadium naming rights and Fort Community Credit Union agreed to $75,000 for the high school Performing Arts Center. The board voted to approve both agreements in separate motions; each motion passed by unanimous voice/roll-call vote. Board members said the upfront payments will be earmarked for facility upgrades rather than routine maintenance. "I appreciate the work that you and Philip Jones have done, and I appreciate Jones Dairy Farm continuing support for the stadium," Board member Mister Loop said during discussion. District staff described both agreements as matching the district's sponsorship policy and as consistent with prior sponsorships. The Jones Dairy Farm funds will be paid up front, the district said, to allow more substantial, earlier improvements at the football stadium. Fort Community Credit Union's contribution also is being paid up front and district speakers said the money will be reserved for capital projects at the Performing Arts Center — for example, upgrades to lighting or sound — not for routine custodial or maintenance costs. The board's sponsorship committee reviewed both proposals before bringing them to the full board for approval. The district said it will work with each sponsor’s marketing department to determine public recognition and an appropriate formal acknowledgment later this fall.
