The Green Local School District Board of Education approved the district’s July financial statement and payment of bills, the consent calendar and a list of donations totaling roughly $21,000.
The board voted 5-0 to approve the financial statement and payment of bills for July. Earlier, the board approved regular meeting minutes from July 28 and an emergency meeting of July 31 by a 4-0-1 vote (one abstention). The consent calendar, covering routine personnel and operational items, passed 5-0.
Under donations, the board approved gifts including $750 to the girls’ soccer program from an anonymous donor; $1,500 to the athletic department OHSAA Athletic Enrichment Fund; $1,850 to the boys’ golf program from Joe Norton; and multiple $1,500 donations supporting the Bulldog DASH from local businesses and nonprofits. Additional gifts included $1,000 donations from several local businesses and $500 from SPGR Enterprises Inc. A board member characterized the total as "almost $21,000" and thanked donors for community support.
The board treated the consent calendar items as routine and approved them in a single motion after the board clerk read the items aloud. No separate discussion or removal requests were made at the meeting.
Board members also noted start-of-year approvals such as bus routes and an updated open-enrollment form that had been corrected after a parent’s summer inquiry. The board regarded the donations as a strong show of community support as the school year begins.
