Carroll County EDA authorizes auction of 2-acre tract at Farmers Market Road and Ballpark Drive

On Sept. 9, 2025, the Carroll County Economic Development Authority authorized two auction firms to sell a two-acre tract of land at the intersection of Farmers Market Road and Ballpark Drive and authorized Mike Watson to sign the contract for the auction. The motion was made during the regular session and carried unanimously. The board approved a motion to authorize Dawn Auction and Alderman Auction to conduct the sale and to allow Mike Watson to execute the auction contract on behalf of the EDA. The mover said, “I'd like to, make a motion that we authorize Dawn Auction and Alderman Auction to sell a 2 acre tract of land located at the intersection of Farmers Market Road and Ballpark Drive. And as part of that motion, I'd like to also have the EDA authorize Mike Watson to sign the contract for the auction.” A second was given, there was no discussion, and the chair called the vote; the motion carried unanimously. The approval authorizes the EDA to engage the two named auction firms and delegates signature authority for the auction contract to Mike Watson. No sale price, reserve, auction date or further terms were provided during the meeting.
