The Infrastructure Committee voted to appropriate $3,000,000 in County Motor Fuel Tax funds for 2026 general maintenance materials, including patching materials, salts, signs and pipe culverts, with purchases to be made as needed next year.
“This is our annual request for appropriation of county motor fuel tax funds for materials,” Amy told the committee. She said quotations will be sought later this year and purchases will begin in 2026. “We are asking for a $3,000,000 appropriation,” she said, adding the request is similar to previous years’ asks.
Chairman Dillon moved the item and Paul seconded; the transcript shows the committee voted and the chair stated, “Motion carries unanimously.” Staff said they will solicit quotations later in the year and bring those procurement actions forward as required.
Less critical details: the appropriation covers commonly procured maintenance materials rather than specific projects; purchases will be staged based on need and quotation results.
