The County Board chair announced that McLean County completed the move from the old animal shelter to the new animal services building and that operations are now based at 13060 East 850 North Road in Shirley.

The chair also summarized the Illinois Department of Corrections’ 2025 compliance monitoring report for the McLean County Jail. The report listed seven improvements the county has made since the prior compliance meeting: (1) reentry packets are now provided to all detainees upon release; (2) cameras were added to the linear recreation yard; (3) a glass security partition was installed around the medical services counter; (4) the East Pod is being renovated with new plumbing and carpeting; (5) the county is updating the electronic jail management system; (6) facility policies are being updated through Lexipol; and (7) the county purchased a new transportation van.

The chair said the report showed no noncompliances with Illinois county jail standards. The chair thanked Sheriff Lane and staff for the work; Sheriff Lane was not present at the meeting.
