The Ways and Means Committee approved on Aug. 20 a one-year lease to secure a child advocacy center location in Wellsville.
Commissioner of Social Services Don Horne requested a resolution approving a lease with Kevin and Claudia Gildner for the property at 1960 Hillcrest Oak Drive, Delainie, Florida, for the period Sept. 1, 2025, through Aug. 31, 2026, at $1,000 per month. Horne said the lease was contingent on county attorney approval and that the total cost will be reimbursed by grants obtained by the county's child advocacy center program. He also said the request includes a transfer previously approved by Human Services, adding $12,000 and an amendment to the maintenance-of-effort item approved earlier by Human Services.
A committee member moved and another seconded the resolution; the committee recorded the motion as carried.
The meeting record does not show further details of the grant source or a fully executed county attorney approval at the time of the vote.
