Committee sets October meeting early to allow full budget reviews for 2026

Cass Taylor, McLean County Administrator, told the Health Committee that October’s meeting will be the session to review oversight departments’ budgets for the coming year. Taylor said the county presents the budget in September, committee reviews occur in October and the final vote is scheduled for November; the budget would begin Jan. 1, 2026.
Because those budget discussions typically run longer, Taylor recommended moving the committee meeting up a half hour to allow time for presentations and votes. Chair Byrne asked whether there were objections to a 3:30 p.m. start; with none raised, Byrne set the next meeting for Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 3:30 p.m. Taylor noted that the committee chair must set and the county must post the meeting time.
