McLean County staff told the Executive Committee on Monday they have delayed the county's ERP go-live from November to February to allow more time for data conversion and coordination with affected offices.
The delay was described during an ERP monthly update by county information-technology staff. "We have delayed our go live, from November to February," a staff member said, citing slower data conversion work and limited participation from the auditor's office as major factors.
Staff said the auditor's office contributed to delays in loading the chart of accounts and that capital-assets conversion may require more direct engagement from the auditor's office. The project manager has reportedly reached out to the auditor to define needs and schedule necessary time. If responsiveness does not improve, staff said they may need to seek help from an external auditor or other resources to keep the project on track.
Committee members discussed the effect of the delay on workloads and staffing. One member suggested the auditor's office may need additional personnel or budget authority to absorb the increased workload the new system will require; staff noted the committee previously approved funding for a project manager and retiree assistance that helped the project progress.
Staff outlined project risks and said they are developing an updated project plan and expect to bring any required budget or schedule resolutions back to the Finance Committee. The committee did not take action; staff will return with updated timelines and any formal requests as the schedule is refined.
