Lab and corner suite A phase‑one conversion of a storeroom into an evidence room is complete and carpet installation is underway; the lab/morgue demolition and mechanical removals are in progress. Staff said the lab project is on a January–February completion timeline but is dependent on arrival of refrigeration equipment.
Punch list and site issues Staff reported two outstanding punch‑list items: poor quality concrete around the Vietnam War Memorial that the contractor must replace (estimated at roughly four or five concrete squares) and damaged irrigation lines along the site's back and side. Staff said retainage and pay‑application funds are available to cover necessary corrective work.
Planned mechanical replacements County staff said specifications to replace the Valley High chiller are under review and will return to the county board in November; installation of a temporary trailer chiller is planned for April. A replacement water‑softener system for the jail — described as a routine capital replacement after three decades of service — appeared in the day's resolution package for board consideration.
