“It's called iWORK for the building zoning department and for code compliance,” Joe Base said. He said the software will allow multiple county departments to share permitting data, integrate with map software so staff can click on parcels in ArcGIS, and offer an online portal for public permit applications and credit-card payments. Joe Base said he expects the vendor to begin the build within 60 to 90 days.
Joe Base also provided a monthly valuation and fee summary for July; the transcript reports the permit-fee total as $3,189.30 and gives a reported valuation figure that is unclear in the audio record. He added that the department has been processing permits and that he will demonstrate the new system once it is configured.

Joe Base said the county currently has several new single-family houses under construction across multiple roads (Inlet Road at Sublette, Kilgore, Lenox, White Oaks, Shadowwood, McGur Road, Quail Hollow Road, Franklin Road) and that some projects include large accessory structures. He said most projects are complying with county rules.
Discussion vs. decision: The committee heard a status report and did not take a formal vote to adopt the software; the contract was described as already signed and the kickoff meeting scheduled.
