Committee members and church representatives described repeated efforts to slow the sign, remove flashing effects, and create a static or "page" display that would hold a single message before changing. Councilor Wagner offered to assist with technical expertise and committee members recommended coordination with the building inspector and the city IT contact as part of final sign checks.
The zoning committee voted to postpone action on the special permit and related compliance review until August 27, 2025, pending a written request from the applicant to extend the review. The committee asked the applicant to work with the building inspector so city staff could verify that the sign meets the city's special‑permit conditions and lighting/operation rules; Councilor Wagner said he would abstain from future votes if he assists with technical work.
