NORFOLK COUNTY, Mass. — Norfolk County commissioners on Aug. 6 approved an agreement allowing the Boston Beer Company (Sam Adams) to film an internal corporate video at a county recreational facility on Aug. 11 in a one-day, low-impact production. Counsel and county staff said the production will not interfere with golf or restaurant operations and the company agreed to pay the county $1,500.
Director Kroner told the commissioners the draft agreement had been amended by county counsel and endorsed by Sam Adams. "Sam Adams has agreed to pay the county $1,500," he said. County counsel and the facility superintendent, Carl Miner, reviewed the plans and raised no objections for the scheduled date.
The contract language in the meeting packet referred to use of the county recreational facility and, in places, to the President's Club and the golf course; staff said the production is small (about four people on site) and intended for internal corporate use, not public advertising. Counsel Scott Lopez reviewed the amended draft on the record and the commissioners voted to approve the agreement by voice vote.
Discussion only: commissioners briefly discussed location details and whether the county would receive on-camera credit; staff said the production is internal to the company and that the facility's operations would not be materially affected. Formal action: approval of the filming agreement and authorization for staff to execute the contract.
The agreement authorizes one-day use of the named county facility on Aug. 11 for a low-impact corporate video in exchange for the $1,500 fee; the meeting transcript records unanimous voice approval.
