A staff speaker described the warrant as the document that allows constables to post notice at city locations so the date may be officially recognized as election day: “This is required by the general laws. It's basically approving the warrant for the, for the elections so that the constables can post it at the various locations around the city so that it can officially be deemed election day.”
A council member moved to send Item 11625 to the full council; another moved and the motion passed without further discussion. The committee recorded the motion as carried and advanced the warrant to the council for approval.
No changes to polling locations or ballot content were made during the committee discussion; the action at the committee level was procedural to satisfy posting and warrant requirements under state election law.
