City outlines fix for pump‑track drainage; contractor to help cover costs, staff say
Summary
After repeated ponding on Sandy’s new pump track, staff said they are designing a hard‑piped outlet and rain‑garden outfall and working with the contractor and city attorney to preserve warranty rights and secure contractor financial support.
Rochelle (staff member) updated the council that Lango Hansen and the city are designing a fix for the pump track at the recently completed park after the installed dry wells have not functioned as intended.
“We are currently with Lango Hansen designing a fix that would include hard piping that would take the water out from under the pump track, remove it into an area that would be essentially a rain garden,” Rochelle said on the record. She added that American Ramp Company (ARC), the contractor for the pump track, has acknowledged responsibility and will provide some financial backing while the city and its attorney work through warranty and contract remedies.
