"Speakers have gotten commitment," a committee member said, and the group discussed follow-up contacts with a local FBI representative, the state attorney general's office (DOJ), insurance agents and the community credit union. Committee members suggested a roundtable format if multiple speakers were available, or limiting each speaker to specific topics, such as banking fraud or email compromise, to keep material accessible for attendees.
Speakers told the committee they would aim to schedule the forum for later in the evening (6:00 or 6:30 p.m.) to improve attendance compared with an earlier 5:30 start used previously. The group estimated prior turnout of 30'45 and said a later start and broader promotion could double attendance.
Committee members also asked whether a federal speaker would record material; an FBI-affiliated presenter previously declined recording because of internal policy. The committee agreed to finalize a speaker list in the next few weeks and to promote the event through flyers, local social media and partner displays in community businesses.
No formal vote was taken; the committee set deadlines for outreach and assigned follow-ups to committee members to confirm speakers and finalize time and logistics.
