County approves purchase of electronic poll books for election day use at $393,300

LaSalle County approved the purchase of election-day electronic poll books from No, Inc. at a contract price of $393,300, the county clerk told the board at its Sept. 1 meeting. The county clerk presented the procurement after review by the taxes, elections and GIS committee, LaSalle County IT and the state's attorney’s office. The clerk said two bids were received and recommended No, Inc. as the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The clerk said budgeted funds from the 2025 budget will cover the purchase and that she planned to move monies from another line within the 2025 budget to complete the acquisition; she stated the purchase would not require additional 2026 budget authority. Several board members asked where the money would come from; the clerk replied the purchase was budgeted and additional funds would be reallocated within the 2025 budget. After committee and staff review and without further questions on the floor, the board approved the resolution and recorded a roll call in which the measure passed by voice/roll call as entered in the minutes. The contract and final procurement documents were approved and the chairman was authorized to sign the agreement to acquire the equipment for election-day use.
