The Fairview Public Safety Advisory Committee outlined a plan to produce monthly safety tips tied to national recognition months and to distribute short infographics via the city’s social media channels and a committee page on the City of Fairview website.
One committee member, who researched national calendars, said, “June is actually national safety month,” and shared a yearlong schedule of thematic opportunities — June (National Safety Month), July (UV safety), August (immunization/eye health), September (suicide prevention and preparedness), October (mental‑health and domestic‑violence awareness), and other monthly observances the group could use as content anchors.
Committee members agreed the content should be short, digital‑first, and hosted on a committee page on the city website so a single QR code used on printed materials could link to a repository of past tips. The group decided to avoid new recurring printing costs and to rely on social media and the city website as primary distribution channels.
The committee set internal deadlines: members were asked to submit two to three summer safety suggestions to the staff contact in advance of the July meeting so a summer template could be drafted. Kyle (committee member) asked for an “official decision on a topic by July,” and members agreed to return with suggested topics and volunteer assignments for producing infographics.
No formal expenditure was approved; members noted the city has limited permission to spend and prefers digital distribution unless a sponsor or donation covers printing costs.
