A committee member summarized the quantity: “As far as quantity, we had 54 bins, 200 pounds per bin,” and another member read the calculation aloud, “10,800.” Committee members said the on‑site program was popular, by‑reservation traffic was handled without major incidents, and city deputies were present as planned.
Committee discussion focused on small operational lessons for future events. Members said some “no parking” signs remained in place until Monday morning and may have caused resident confusion. Volunteers recommended standing at the curb and waving cars forward rather than stepping into vehicle lanes, both to maintain flow and for safety. One staff member said Free Geek (an electronics reuse nonprofit) accepts monetary donations in addition to electronics and suggested advertising that.
Members also discussed reinstituting a food or clothing collection for the local pantry, noting volunteers and pickup logistics would need to be arranged. Options discussed included recruiting volunteers to move donations the same afternoon, using public works, or storing items temporarily at city hall.
The committee agreed to keep the donation and logistics items under follow‑up for the fall event, and requested staff to confirm sharps/medical‑waste disposal locations and pharmacy drop boxes for prescription sharps before the October event.
