Fairview PSAC requests finance director briefing; committee seeks clarity on charter reporting requirements

“Eric said that now that there's a new finance director, he advised that we contact the finance director first,” a committee member summarized while relaying prior correspondence. The committee agreed a finance briefing would be educational and useful but not urgent; members discussed timing options and suggested offering the presentation in late summer or early fall if the finance director is available.
Committee members also raised an inconsistency in committee guidance. One document in the packet appears to require quarterly status reports under code section 2.140.14E, while another document refers to an annual report. Committee members asked the chair and staff to seek clarification from the city manager and mayor about whether the chair must report quarterly or whether the staff liaison may provide written reports instead.
The group agreed the next steps are: staff will ask the finance director whether she is willing to present to PSAC (and if so whether other committees may join), and staff will ask city leadership to confirm reporting expectations under the charter. No formal vote on those questions was requested during the meeting.
