During roll call the committee recorded a quorum with three members present. The committee conducted nominations for chair and vice chair; a motion to approve acting leadership carried by unanimous voice vote. Committee members agreed staff will forward the required notification to the city council because the city charter limits continuous service in the same chair role to two consecutive years unless the council takes action.
Committee members noted two current vacancies on EDAC and said no applications have been received. Staff indicated that once applications are submitted the council will make formal appointments.
The committee discussed whether to reduce regular meetings to quarterly, consistent with the municipal code which requires at least quarterly meetings. Several members argued that monthly meetings were not necessary given the staff workload and the current pace of projects; one member suggested meeting next in May to allow time for Halsey Street design and updates on the multi‑unit property tax exemption program. The committee tentatively scheduled its next meeting for May 8.
