The sheriff introduced Bobby Osborne, who recently graduated from the Police Training Institute in Champaign on Aug. 21 and is working in Grundy County with a field training officer for the next eight to 12 weeks.
Multiple department reports were recorded as "in the packet" with no extended discussion. The budget officer reported departmental expenditures are generally at expected levels — many departments are beyond the 50% mark for the fiscal year, with some between about 60% and 75% — and no department had exceeded its budget such that board action was required at this time.
The committee did not take any separate action on the shredder beyond recording the purchase, and it did not vote on personnel beyond approving claims and recording the sheriff's report of the new hire.
