Edgar County health department adds dental services, advertises clinical positions

Kim, representing the health department, said the department had posted openings for a registered nurse and a dental clinician. She also told commissioners the department added denture services about six months ago and that two dentists now provide care: Dr. Eva Council, a full-time dentist who works Monday through Thursday, and Dr. Eaton, who provides services on Fridays.
Board members asked whether residents use the health department dental services; Kim said there is a wait list but that staff are working through it. She noted the department had recently added a branded breast-cancer-awareness program. No budget changes or grant awards were presented at the meeting.
The department did not provide patient counts or the expected cost of dentures at the meeting; commissioners seeking additional detail were told to contact the health department directly.
