Courtney Yackee, representing Regional Growth Lines, updated the board on recent progress at the ETC/F&M Technology Center and the Core academy. Yackee said the technology center held its grand opening in July and thanked local partners. She reported that Core (the training/program space) has classes starting and that Lakeland College made an investment supporting the center; more than 80 students are enrolled for the current school year. The board noted that the county was acknowledged on the donor board at the facility. Yackee also gave an update on the F&M Regional Manufacturing Collaborative, saying the group remains in strategy phase 3, discussing credentials and competencies for targeted positions; the collaborative will meet next in September. The remarks were delivered as public comment and informational update; no formal county action was taken at the meeting. The county board encouraged continued collaboration with schools and workforce partners.
