County trustee readies sale of excess parcels; bids due Oct. 10, tax sale set for Oct. 27

The county trustee told the committee Sept. 2 that the trustee’s office is selling excess properties the county acquired through tax delinquency and advised residents and interested buyers on bidding procedures and dates. The trustee said a catalog listing legal descriptions and parcel numbers is available and that signs identifying parcels and bid numbers will be posted around the county. Bids must be submitted to the trustee’s office by 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 10; the trustee said he will open envelopes to determine winners and then contact successful bidders to complete the sale process. The trustee said the county’s tax sale is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 27, at 9 a.m. in Louisville. He estimated there are “like, 75” parcels available and said individual parcels are sold separately; bidders may also use the IL tax sale online service to place bids.
