The Planning and Zoning Committee voted to accept Commerce Street Solar’s initial use application as complete and to schedule a public hearing, after staff and outside engineers confirmed previously noted items were resolved.
Planning staff said the applicant submitted a large application—nearly 400 pages with more than 20 exhibits—but that minor outstanding items, including signatures and soil-and-water conservation documentation, were addressed and application fees were paid. Staff and retained reviewers Scott and Vicky reported the application met the required completeness checks and is ready to proceed to a public hearing.
Committee members discussed logistics for the hearing, including how to reference page numbers across multiple exhibits and whether the matter could be scheduled for the next Zoning Board of Appeals meeting or require a special meeting. Staff said the application is ready for a public hearing and cautioned that “complete” does not imply approval; it means the filings meet application requirements for a hearing.
Committee members moved to accept the application and to set a public hearing date; the motion carried on a recorded roll call. Members noted the site lies north of Gilman, between Highway 45 and nearby rail tracks, and that staff and reviewers would prepare hearing materials and page references for committee use.
