Gage County proclaims Sept. 11 as Big Give Gage Day; foundation seeks $500,000 goal

Don Petrovsky, president of the Gage County Foundation, said the event is in its seventh year and that the foundation and partner organizations have raised just over $2 million for local nonprofits during the first six events. "Our goal this year is 500,000, 500 reasons why to give on that day," Petrovsky said, urging residents to participate in the Sept. 11 campaign at biggivegauge.org and through in-person donations at the Vintage Venue beginning at 7 a.m.
Petrovsky said the foundation covers administrative costs and advertising so that donations made on Big Give Gage Day go directly to nonprofits; sponsorships are available to cover promotional costs and to distribute support across participating organizations. The board approved and the chairman signed the proclamation recognizing the day for philanthropy and volunteerism in the county.
No financial action by the board was required; the proclamation recognizes the foundation's annual fundraising effort and encourages residents to donate directly to local nonprofits.
