Gage County Board of Equalization members voted unanimously on Aug. 20 to approve two one-year maintenance agreements for property appraisal services covering July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026.
The contracts approved were a maintenance agreement with Standard Appraisal Services and a maintenance agreement with Cardinal Assessment Group. Both motions passed on 7–0 votes. The Standard Appraisal Services motion was moved by Jurgens and seconded by Dorn and carried 7 in favor. The Cardinal Assessment Group motion was moved by Dorn, seconded by Jurgens, and carried 7 in favor.
The board said the Cardinal agreement is essentially the same arrangement the county has used in prior years. The presiding official commented about the Cardinal provider, “I hope he's done a good job this last year. I thought you did a good job through the referee process also.” Josh, identified in the meeting only by his first name, was named as the Cardinal representative. No changes to contract terms were described in the meeting record.
No public objections or competing bids were recorded during the discussion. The board took the votes after brief confirmation that the agreements matched previous years’ arrangements.
Procedural items at the start of the Aug. 20 session — including approval of the meeting agenda and approval of previous minutes — were handled before the appraisal items and also passed by unanimous votes.
