A public commenter at the close of Tuesday's Climate and Environment and Infrastructure Committee meeting urged the city and transit agency to add live video monitoring and improved lighting at curbside bus stops so emergency responders can detect and respond to shootings, medical emergencies and other incidents.
Stefan Pryor, who spoke during the public-comment period, suggested live-streamed video at side-curb stations to support faster response from police and firefighters and asked for more lighting and safety features. Pryor also criticized an "aggregation program" he said appears on Duke Energy bills and called for the city to remove it.
The committee did not take action on the comments; the meeting adjourned after filing Metro's presentation.
Ending: The committee recorded the public comment for the meeting record; no committee direction or formal response was made on the items raised during the single two-minute public comment.
