Council members asked staff about a $1,000,000 allocation in the mayor's budget for the Town Center garage under the Department of Enterprise Services.

Councilman Rowan asked, "Can you tell us what that is for specifically?" Dr. Dudesch replied that the funds are for necessary maintenance to shore up portions of the garage that are causing hazards. "In the short term, those, repairs and hazards need to be shored up and that's what those funds are directed for," he said.

Councilman Rowan followed up by noting that the garage is slated for replacement in the future but said the $1 million is intended to avoid injuries or death by addressing imminent hazards.

Staff did not provide a detailed list of specific repairs, a timeline, or a cost breakdown during the committee discussion; council members directed questions to budget staff and the mayor's chief of staff present for follow-up.
