The Budget and Finance Committee voted to place a legislative resolution on passage that starts the state-required process to appropriate property interests along Redding Road so Greater Cincinnati Water Works can construct a 48-inch storm sewer and a stormwater detention facility.
The resolution "initiates the state required process for this type of activity, related to private property," said Dr. Dudesch from the budget office during the committee meeting. The project was described as a remedy for "flooding along Redding Road, as well as, private properties along that area," he said.
Committee members asked about the precise parcels and location. President Park asked where along Redding Road the work would occur; Dr. Dudesch said he would look up parcels and provide that detail later. Council member Jeffries noted the work is in the city of Redding—outside Cincinnati—adding that the Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD) is operating in that area, which is why council action was necessary.
After those clarifications, the chair moved to put item number 1 on for passage.
The committee recorded no detailed funding breakdown or construction schedule during the discussion; Dr. Dudesch said the resolution is the procedural step to start the appropriation process. The meeting did not include a recorded vote on final adoption of the ordinance itself; the committee placed the item on for passage to advance through the council process.
