Mayor Portover told Vermillion City Council she appreciates Detective Sergeant Scott Holmes and other police personnel for quickly identifying the source of random shootings on Brown Town Station Road that occurred in late July. The mayor said, with cooperation from neighboring agencies, arrests were made the prior week.

Portover said the arrests should provide relief to residents in the affected area. She indicated Police Chief Hartung will provide a more detailed report to council at a subsequent meeting.
