Maryville — The Maryville Town Council approved a large-gathering permit on Aug. 12 for the Indian Culture Center to hold an Indian Cultural Fest at 8605 Maryville Road on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sheila Shine, planning and building director, presented the application and said the event expects approximately 300 attendees, will provide indoor restrooms, three drinking fountains, two dumpsters and six trash cans, and will rely on on-site parking with about 150 spaces available. The petitioner supplied amusement and food-service permits and indicated there would be no ticket sales and no overnight stays. "Security will be provided by the Maryville Police Department," Shine said. Staff also reminded the petitioner that open flame under tents would not be permitted.
Councilor Uslak moved to approve the permit; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote. Staff said the event is an annual festival and that town staff will coordinate logistics, including a site check by town staff prior to the event.
