Hohman district to renew MOU with Peace of Mind Counseling to keep counselors in schools

Jill Mason, the district’s executive director of student services, said, “In the past couple years when we had, the federal funds from COVID, we were able to fund a position. We are no longer able to do that, but Peace of Mind still does come into our buildings and serve our kids, for counseling services.”
Mason explained the annual MOU clarifies communication and access between district staff and Peace of Mind counselors so counselors can be present in schools. The board was told the item will appear on the Sept. 8 consent agenda for formal approval.
A board member asked whether Peace of Mind supplies multiple counselors; Mason replied several counselors provide services.
