Mayor Stehr told the council on Monday that the town is working with Eagle Scout candidate Lucas Beach to install a veterans monument — a plaque on a large boulder — near the flagpoles at Town Hall. "What you can see on your screen right now is a mock up of the plaque that'll be mounted on a large boulder and placed near the flagpoles just to the west of the front door," Mayor Stehr said.
He said the town hopes to have the monument in place for the Sept. 11 memorial service held annually at Town Hall. No funding or final installation date was provided in the council meeting remarks.
