GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio — The Garfield Heights City School District board voted Aug. 11 to go into executive session to consider collective bargaining strategy, citing Section 121.22(G)(4) of the Ohio Revised Code.
The motion to enter executive session was moved by Miss Cox and seconded by Miss Thomas. During roll call, Miss Cox, Miss Thomas, Miss Morrison and Dr. King recorded votes of “yes,” and the board entered executive session at approximately 7:06 p.m. The presiding officer stated the board would not conduct any business after adjournment.
The board cited Ohio Rev. Code § 121.22(G)(4), which permits a public body to hold a closed session to prepare for, conduct, or review collective bargaining strategy. No details of bargaining strategy or personnel were discussed in public session, and no public votes on bargaining matters were taken at the Aug. 11 meeting.
The board will return to open session and place any required public actions on a future agenda if necessary.
