Council approved ordinances adding authorization to existing construction-engineering and inspection contracts to ensure continued oversight of ongoing capital and maintenance work.
Engineering staff told council they had identified additional inspection needs tied to current construction and maintenance work and requested added authorization to two contracts. For one contract (Mannequin Smith Group Inc.), staff sought authorization to increase available inspection funding to a $50,000 total for the balance of the year; staff described the request as an additional $35,050 on top of the prior allocation, producing the $50,000 total.
For another contract (ACM Construction Management LLC), staff requested a $50,000 increase to cover invoices and ongoing work; staff said the aggregate contract values remain within typical inspection-percentage ranges even after the increases (staff cited total construction program values approaching $2,000,000 and said inspection costs remain a modest percentage).
Council placed both ordinances on the consent agenda and adopted them as part of that vote. Staff said the increases respond to invoices and work already underway and that they will return with updated contract totals and any future change-orders as needed.
The ordinances were listed in the meeting packet as Ordinance 2025-108 (Mannequin Smith Group) and Ordinance 2025-109 (ACM change order number 1).
