The County Board of Supervisors on Aug. 12 scheduled a public hearing for September to consider revisions to the county’s solar revenue-sharing ordinance that would explicitly include battery energy storage systems.
Board members and county counsel said revisions are being drafted to incorporate battery energy systems and other clarifying language into the existing revenue-sharing ordinance. A group of staff, counsel and a board member reviewed proposed changes and agreed to schedule a hearing to receive public comment and finalize revisions.
The board directed staff to publish the hearing notice and continue refining ordinance language. No final ordinance change was adopted at the Aug. 12 meeting; the hearing will provide a public forum for comment before the board considers adoption.
