Board approves $1.1 million for Fire Springs department; brush truck replacement discussed

A staff member told the board the county originally budgeted $500,000 for a replacement truck this year and that the department indicated an additional $100,000 was needed to cover the purchase. Staff said the truck currently in service remains functional and that the vendor contract indicates an expected delivery of about six months after order; in contract terms staff noted a finish time of roughly 90 days after delivery of the chassis, with actual timing dependent on chassis availability.
Board members approved the budget amendment by roll call during the meeting. Staff said the appropriation will cover the anticipated vehicle purchase and that procurement timelines reflect chassis delivery schedules controlled by manufacturers.
The board did not adopt additional policy changes; staff will proceed with the purchase and report back with timeline updates as procurement advances.
