Cary seeks volunteers for Main Street Fest; schedules constituent event Sept. 23

Village of Cary staff on Sept. 2 asked residents to volunteer for the Cary Main Street Fest and announced a constituent services open house set for Tuesday, Sept. 23 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Village Hall with state Sen. Wilcox and Mayor Koenig.
A village staff member said the Main Street Fest is about 17 days away and the event has activities for residents and visitors; staff said volunteer sign-ups continue and expressed thanks to those who have already volunteered. "We are still looking for volunteers," the staff member said. The village also said staff from multiple departments will attend the Sept. 23 open house to discuss upcoming projects and capital improvements.
Public comments at the start of the meeting included brief thanks to the road department and praise for the community cleanup; Martha Ritter of 239 North School Street and Chris Rickey of 446 Lloyd Street thanked staff and volunteers for cleanup efforts following the recent storm. The board closed the public comment period before moving on to the consent agenda.
