County introduces new real estate specialist and law school intern

Pottawattamie County supervisors on July 12 paused the business agenda to introduce two new staffers: Owen Catlett, who began work in the auditor’s office as a real estate specialist, and Christie Leonard, a law student from Creighton University serving as a summer intern in the county civil division.
Mary Anne, the county auditor, introduced Owen Catlett and said he began work the previous day as a real estate specialist. Catlett told the board he recently graduated from the University of Florida with a double major in history and political science and minors in real estate and business administration; he said he previously worked for the Department of the Interior in contracts and acquisitions and in restaurant management during college.
County staff also introduced Christie Leonard, a Creighton law student who will complete her final year of law school after the summer internship. The county attorney said Leonard was the first intern requested specifically for the civil division and has worked on several projects over the summer.
Ending: Supervisors welcomed both new hires and encouraged them as they transition into county service.
