Commissioners honor Lydia Y. Green on appointment to Seventh Judicial District

The Oklahoma County Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution 2025-33-88 recognizing and congratulating Judge Lydia Y. Green on her appointment by Governor Kevin J. Stitt as a district judge in the Seventh Judicial District.
The resolution notes that Judge Green had been selected by district judges of Oklahoma County to serve as a special judge on Feb. 13, 2017, and honored her eight years of service to the Seventh Judicial District and Oklahoma County. Commissioner Lowe moved for approval and offered public congratulations, noting she and Judge Green had been classmates in law school.
Judge Green addressed the board, saying she was humbled by the recognition and citing Luke 12:48 as a reminder of the responsibility she now holds. "Having the authority to make decisions that can shape a person's life while interpreting the law and administering justice in the face of complexity is no small responsibility," she told the commissioners. "I commit to you today that I will uphold the rule of law while remaining fair and impartial."
The board voted to approve the resolution; commissioners and attendees took a photograph after the vote.
