The Board accepted completion of a nearly one-mile sidewalk in Spencer built with a REAP grant administered through ACOG, and authorized related closeout actions. County staff said the application requested $313,000 for the Spencer sidewalk and that the project was satisfactorily completed ahead of the school year.

A county presenter said the sidewalk connects the Spencer community, runs in front of Spencer High School, and links city hall, first-responder stations and a gas station to provide safe walking access for students and residents. "We were able to get this project completed before the start of the school year, which is really big for us," the presenter said. Commissioners thanked staff and local partners and approved acceptance and any required closeout documentation by voice vote.
