Oklahoma County commissioners approved a $608,392 amendment on Sept. 2 to HOK's design contract for the new jail project, moving the design to a phased approach.
County engineering staff said the phased approach requires splitting plans into two sets; some walls that were interior will become exterior in phase two, roof work will be modified and utilities relocated. Staff recommended the amendment and noted the fee represents less than 0.5% of overall construction cost.
Commissioners voted to approve the amendment. The motion to approve was seconded and passed by voice vote. Staff recorded no roll-call vote in the transcript.
