Staff presented the plan as the result of an extensive process involving elected officials and 66 staff participants; the presenter said the planning effort represented about 1,973 hours of engagement including sessions, focus groups and surveys that began last November. The board approved the resolution by roll call.
County communications staff said materials and signage are being prepared for department offices and staff badges to reinforce the mission and values; decal installation in the boardroom is expected the week of Sept. 8 to avoid damaging fresh paint. The county also plans a community event the evening of the meeting to publicize the plan.
The plan adoption is administrative: staff will manage departmental rollouts, create signage and provide implementation materials. Supervisors praised the cross-departmental engagement and signaled they expect the plan to guide future work and communications.
Formal action: board adopted the strategic plan by resolution and authorized departmental implementation steps; no additional budget appropriation was requested during the meeting.
