Council awards River Trail Northwest of Sandy Cove construction contract to Accord Contractors

Snoqualmie City Council unanimously approved Resolution 17-24 on Monday to award the construction contract for the River Trail Northwest of Sandy Cove to Accord Contractors. The vote followed a staff presentation describing the project's scope and site context. Dylan Gamble, the city's CIP manager, described the project as a softer-surface trail intended to link the Kimball Creek area toward historic downtown and to bring the city closer to eventual connections to Sandy Cove. "This is the river trail project. It's in the CIP called Northwest Of Sandy Cove," Gamble told the council. Council members who participated in an on-site walking tour said the route will provide additional green space and neighborhood walking opportunities. Pastor Christiansen thanked staff, noting that the walk-through with parks and public works staff was "really helpful" and that the trail would be a valuable recreational asset for families. The motion to award the contract was moved by Councilor Benson and seconded by Councilor Christiansen. With no public opposition and no recorded dissent among council members, the resolution passed unanimously. Construction award documents and contract terms were not discussed at length in the council meeting beyond the resolution and staff's project overview; staff will proceed to execute the contract with the successful bidder and advance construction scheduling and permitting steps.
