ISD 191 approves concurrent-enrollment contracts with Inver Hills and Dakota County Tech

The ISD 191 Board of Education approved concurrent-enrollment agreements with Inver Hills Community College and Dakota County Technical College at its Aug. 28 meeting and authorized the superintendent to execute the contracts on the district's behalf.
Assistant Superintendent Dr. Chris Belmont said these partnerships are a backbone of district pathways and noted that ISD 191 students "saved almost a million dollars in tuition" during the last year because of concurrent-enrollment opportunities. Belmont recommended approval of the agreements and the motions were moved and seconded; both carried unanimously.
The agreements were presented as annual renewals; Belmont characterized them as routine but important to career and college pathways. Director Ault asked for ongoing reporting on year-over-year participation in concurrent enrollment versus PSEO; Belmont said that data is included in the annual SPA (secondary pathways/stackable pathways) report in the spring and the district will continue to make that information available.
The motions authorized the superintendent to execute agreements between Burnsville High School and the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees on behalf of the named institutions.
