Community corrections reports above-grant fee collections, ranks among 12 statewide

Brett Martin, representing community corrections, reported that his staff collected more in program fees in the quarter than the grant dollars they received, a performance he said only 12 community corrections agencies in the state achieved.
Martin named staff members he credited for the work—Marissa Blackwell, Jamie Camp, Nick Hillman, Todd Whitlock and Josh Spencer—and said his team used collection tools and pursued back fees to increase revenue. He said of those 12 agencies statewide, only two achieved a collection rate over 100 percent.
Council members praised the effort as a positive budgetary result and noted the Trex collection approach continues to show success. Martin said he reviewed quarterly reports from every community corrections agency in the state, looked at collection percentages, fees, grant dollars compared to budgets, and completions and supervision metrics to reach the conclusion he presented.
No budget motions were attached to the report; the council heard the update as informational.
